Plateforme France-Masques has listed (not exhaustively) the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) with their answers to help you to better understand our products:
What is a mask for the general public and what are its characteristics?
After an approach supervised by the French Agency for the Safety of Health Products (ANSM), with the support of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), two new categories of masks for the general public have been created by means of an information note from the Ministries of Health, Economy and Finance, and Labour of 29 March 2020.
- Category-1 masks filtering at least 90% of 3-micron particles for use by professionals in contact with the general public,
- Category-2 masks filtering at least 70% of 3-micron particles for the collective protection of groups when they are work by all members of said group
These masks are intended for people in a professional environment having occasional contact with other people. This mask may be worn by all individuals in a group (company, department, etc) or in the presence of other individuals wearing a mask when the task or working conditions require this.
These “general public” masks are mainly intended for individuals during their professional activity and may also be suggested for others during approved outings during lockdown and then after lockdown.
The use of these masks is part of the strict application of lockdown measures, work organisation measures as well as social distancing.
